We had a great class yesterday at the Lifestyle Center thanks to Erlanger Hospital who donates the state of the art classroom for our veterans. Roger Helle, a Marine hero of the Vietnam War and author, told a riveting story in our hybrid National class which included those veterans who zoomed in from across the country and also Brazil. Sometimes we cry when we hear these stories but the healing comes with the brotherhood and sisterhood who hear and understand. This song will be amazing when finished. His wife, Shirley, was there in support. Roger and Shirley have a wonderful ministry. We had a great story in the Red Bank evening class in Chattanooga from a Vietnam Navy Veteran, Gary (Pop) Wheeler, who is in Maine but was facetimed into class by our local lead songwriter Josh Wheeler. Pop was on the USS Constitution in docked in Hong Kong when they got the call that the Vietnam War had started and they headed there and launched the first fighter planes into Vietnam. He was also a parachute rigger and also got those pilots ready in POW camp in Maine to face possible capture and how to survive. We are excited to write his song!! And Steve Dean was in the house! We had a live Chattanooga and hyrid zoom class on Wednesday. We finished an incredicble songs with Ryan Yantis about the day the plane flew into the Pentagon 9/11. He was in the building and told us what was happening to get people out. He was impressed with his song. This song will go into our educational series. Our own Minnie Murphy was in Chattanooga Tuesday night at the Charles H Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center dinner to sing the National Anthem and she blew them away. Minnie is the best at belting out a soulful national anthem. She is shown in the picture with her fiance, Mitch, and Medal of Honor recipient David Ballavia, who gave Minnie a huge shout out during his speech. Arts BuildWUTCHonkyTonkSchool🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
