💜 Meet Our Executive Director: Tim Boyd

Over the past six months, Tim Boyd has been helping lead the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Tennessee into an exciting new chapter.

While many of the changes happening at the Foundation may be new to our community, Tim brings a lifetime of leadership, service, and commitment to Southeast Tennessee.

A 1970 graduate of East Ridge High School, Tim earned his BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1976. His career has included engineering, invention, environmental consulting, and public service. In 1986, he patented the “Medical Gait Analysis Apparatus,” and in 1989 he consulted with EXXON during the Valdez Oil Spill cleanup. From 1989–1995, he served as president of an environmental remediation consulting and design firm.

Tim also served three terms as Hamilton County Commissioner for District 8 from 2010–2022, including serving as Vice Chairman of the County Commission from 2021–2022. His commitment to the community has continued through his support of organizations and programs focused on literacy, families, and second chances.

But perhaps the most important part of Tim’s story is the people he serves and the people he loves. Tim married his high school sweetheart, Jan Kreis, in 1973. Together, they have three children and five grandchildren.

Today, Tim is bringing that same heart for service to the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Tennessee. His goal is to help strengthen our organization, expand our reach, build meaningful partnerships, and ensure that individuals and families affected by epilepsy throughout our region know they have someone standing with them.

👋 We’re Back!

We know it’s been a little quiet around here — and we’re sorry for the absence! But we’re excited to reconnect with our community and share what’s happening with the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Tennessee.

We’re working to make our social media a place where our community can find support, education, resources, events, and encouragement for people living with epilepsy and their families. 💜
