Today we celebrate the African child's agency and potential. Based on this year’s theme, ‘Ensuring universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene for every child in Africa, ’ today, we remind governments and communities of our collective responsibility to remove barriers to these services to improve children's health, education, and overall well-being.

AG’s 2026-2030 Strategic Plan is a bold intention to sustainably tackle the challenges presented by the global shifts. Our co-CEO, Lucy Minayo, speaks about why this new strategy matters for CDOs and for girls, calling on funders to fund from a place of abundance, not fear, and to invest in sustainable interventions that tackle the root causes of the barriers that African girls face in their communities.

On day 4 of the , Gloria Micheni, our Partner Learning Officer presented an abstract under Sub theme 1 on Innovations to Address and Eliminate the Triple Threat.

In her presentation, Gloria shared how the Adolescent Girls Agency Survey (AGAS) can be used for evaluation, learning, and SRHR integration across adolescent education and livelihood programs - while drawing from how our partners have used the AGAS for program measurement.

On Day 3, AMPLIFY Girls co-hosted a side event together with ICRW Africa and Advisors in Human Sexuality. The session, titled 'Driving Impact Across the Life Course: Integrating SRHR, Gender Equality, and Women’s Economic Empowerment,' highlighted how we can shift SRHR discourse, policy, and investment toward a comprehensive lifecycle approach that supports women’s health, dignity, agency, and economic participation from adolescence through midlife and beyond.

Florence brings to AMPLIFY Girls 18 years of experience leading advocacy, communications, and movement-building initiatives across Africa and Asia. She has dedicated her career to advancing girls’ rights, gender equality, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through community-driven advocacy, policy engagement, and systems change.
