A praise from Cuba on September 15, 2022:
We are praising the Lord that the contents of the container were inspected and released yesterday the 14th of September!
It was the perfect time, just as we needed the scaffolding and the roofing metal!
The Lord is so gracious and able!
Also we have both generators and they have all been brought to the work sites. The electricity goes off from 10:00am to 2:00 pm most days. Some places only have electricity for 2 hours a day.
With the generators we can use the saws, and big drill and the grinders that we brought in our suitcases. Those items were not allowed to be shipped in the container.
The first project is ready for the roof.
The second project, an addition on a small place will be completed today.
Part of our small group will start the third project today. The fourth project is just a roof.
We are praying for strength and weather to complete all the projects and roofs.
The second project has 55 members and was so small that many of them had to stand outside to hear the sermon. They are so happy to have their place expanded!
The people here have very little money and even when they have some funds, the store shelves are empty or closed for lack of items to sell. They need the food that was shipped so badly!!! And we received all of it! We did give those who helped with the inspection and the unloading of the items gifts of food of their choice. They did not ask for anything, but we offered them things for their help. The we’re grateful.
It is good that our group brought rice beans and granola in our bags so they could prepare food for the group and the others involved in these projects.
The books and Bible studies are so needed here and we were allowed to have them.
It was very interesting to me that the evening before the container was to be inspected, a man was on our church bus bringing us home and he was the main guy that would determine what things in the container the church would be able to receive. I was able to talk with him, through our translator Jesus Rubio.
We discussed the possibility of sending electric motorcycles for the pastors. Transportation is costly or on foot. They only receive $24 ( USD equivalent ) per month.
I love to watch God work!
Rich
