We celebrated our sister cities yesterday at our annual Flavors of the World Event. Highlighted our newest sister city Trostyanets, Ukraine and enjoyed a powerful presentation by one of our current exchange students.

If you are drawn to diverse cultures, global connections, travel, the arts, and meaningful cultural exchange and you care about the vibrant future of Chattanooga, there is a place for you here. It's Ghana's Independence Day! 🇬🇭

This day holds special significance in my journey. A few years ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to build lasting connections between Chattanooga and Accra, Ghana. Through these relationships with government officials, mayors, chiefs, ministers, parliament members, kings, and queens, I was able to help write an MOU that led to Accra becoming Chattanooga's first-ever African Sister City!

What an incredible piece of history!

Looking forward to assisting Dr. Erica Bass-Flimmons and African Research Collaborative by organizing an academic themed trip for Spellman College to ACCRA GHANA soon! 🙏🏾✨

Our Sister Cities vice president for Tono, Japan accompanied the Tono delegation throughout their week-long visit from January 6-12, 2026. Nooga Shuttles provided the transportation and they were fantastic. Beyond the clean, comfortable van and the fact they were always on time, was the fact that the drivers went above and beyond every day to make the students and their adult chaperones felt right at home here in Chattanooga. Dale told us wonderful stories of his many unique experiences as a driver, and he always pointed out special features of the places we visited. On the day he that drove the delegation back to the Atlanta airport, they discovered that one of the students left her cell phone at the hotel. Dale helped calm frazzled nerves and also helped arrange for the phone’s return.

On the one day that Dale could not be with us, Ales was our driver and was equally fantastic.

The delegation had only one day in their schedule that they could visit Lookout Mountain. Even though the day was foggy and off-and-on rainy, Ales worked with the delegation to make sure that special visit could happen.

The Tono Japan delegation and the Sister Cities Association of Chattanooga thanks Dale, Ales, and Nooga Shuttles for their incredible service and gives them our highest recommendation.
