The AIM Center clubhouse provides psychosocial rehabilitation services to create hope, community and social change to enrich and celebrate the lives of people living with serious mental illness. AIM Center is a nonprofit mental health program offering employment, education, housing, socialization, and wellness opportunities for adults living with serious mental illness. Our focus is recovery! What

makes us unique to the region? Utilizing a psychosocial rehabilitation model known as the "Clubhouse program," the AIM Center allows Clubhouse members to develop relationships and create an individual recovery plan, whilst working side by side with other program participants and staff. Since 1989, we have helped over 3,000 adults in the Chattanooga community lead a full and meaningful life, while living with serious mental illness. Each day 75 to 100 participants, called Clubhouse members, come to the AIM Center to engage in recovery activities. By working together with staff and other members, individuals begin to feel needed and accepted, discover their strengths and abilities, and develop relationships based on mutual respect and shared contributions. AIM Center members have equal voices in all facets of the Clubhouse ‘s operations including planning leisure activities, hiring staff, making decisions about policies and procedures, and having input into the long-range planning of the Clubhouse. Services provided outside the Clubhouse model promote community integration, which includes transitional and supported employment, supported education, supported housing, and leisure activities. The program is open to persons with a diagnosed psychiatric disorder who are 18 years of age or older. Membership to AIM Center is without time limits, so individuals may return to AIM Center whenever they need or want additional support.

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to our friends at Arts Build for their generous support, which allowed us to invest in much-needed adaptive art supplies for our members! 🎨

Because of their funding, we were able to purchase an adaptive desk for members who use mobility devices, along with a wonderful variety of adaptive art tools, including brushes, stamps, grips, scissors, and more. These tools help support members with a range of accessibility needs and make it easier for everyone to participate in creative expression.

These supplies are already being put to use in our art studio, and our members continue to show that creativity has no limits!

Thank you, ArtsBuild, for your continued support of our mission and for helping create a more accessible and inclusive space for our members! 🧡

If there's one thing we know at AIM Center, it's that a lot of great work happens with a little help from caffeine! ☕

That's why we were so excited when our friends at 7 Brew Coffee stopped by the Clubhouse today with some delicious drinks for our members and staff!

As they get ready to open their brand-new location at 5771 Brainerd Rd. in Chattanooga, they took time to share the excitement with our community, and we are so grateful for their generosity and support.

Be sure to stop by and grab your favorite drink when they open later this month. Welcome to the neighborhood, 7 Brew! Thank you for helping make our day a little brighter! 🧡

We’re wrapping up our student-created mental health awareness series in collaboration with Center for Creative Arts by highlighting schizophrenia. 🧠

Throughout this series, students have helped share information, challenge misconceptions, and encourage conversations that reduce stigma and promote understanding of mental illness and recovery.

Schizophrenia is a complex mental health condition that can affect how a person thinks, feels, and experiences the world around them. While it is often misunderstood, people living with schizophrenia can and do lead meaningful lives with the right support, treatment, and opportunities for connection. At AIM Center, we’re committed to creating a space where individuals living with mental illness can find community, purpose, and support.

Through the Clubhouse model, members can build relationships, develop skills, and engage in meaningful work that fosters confidence and belonging. This supportive environment helps reinforce that recovery is possible and that no one has to navigate their journey alone.

We’re back with another installment of our student-created mental health awareness series in collaboration with Center for Creative Arts. 🧠 Today, we’re highlighting bipolar disorder.

Through this series, students have helped share information, challenge misconceptions, and encourage conversations about mental health and recovery.

Bipolar disorder can impact a person’s mood, energy levels, and daily life, but with the right support, treatment, and community, recovery is possible. At AIM Center, we’re committed to creating a space where individuals living with mental illness can find connection, purpose, and support. Through the Clubhouse model, members can build meaningful relationships, establish routines, and participate in purposeful work alongside peers and staff. This supportive community can help provide stability, encouragement, and a sense of belonging throughout the recovery journey.

We have yet another Clubhouse community celebration to share with you all! ✨

Our very own Executive Director, Jamie Polk, recently completed her Leadership Chattanooga cohort! Leadership Chattanooga is a highly respected leadership development program through the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce that brings together emerging and established leaders from across the region. Being selected for and completing this program over the last 10 months is a significant accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of Jamie for reaching this milestone!

We know so much of what she has learned and gained from this experience will continue to strengthen the amazing work she does at AIM Center and within the Clubhouse community.

In addition to her role at AIM Center, Jamie currently serves on the board of Be The Change Youth Initiative and is actively involved throughout the Chattanooga community. She has also been a valued part of the AIM family for the past five years, helping advance our mission of supporting mental health recovery and community inclusion.

Please join us in congratulating Jamie on this exciting and well-deserved accomplishment! 🎉🧡
