Trail Daze of Summer with is off to a stellar start! 🌟

We had 38 volunteers join us for our first official Big Three Trail Daze and accomplished an incredible amount of work on the trails. Huge thanks to everyone who came out, got dirty, and helped improve climbing access at Fosters.

This Saturday is National Trails Day, and we’ve got two great opportunities to keep the momentum rolling:

🥾 Foster Falls Trail Day — Join the Access Fund Conservation Team for one final work day before they head to their next project. We’ll be helping wrap up improvements to Climbers Access 1 & 2, including the new stair structures and trail connections.

🌿 Sunset Rock Trail Day — Team up with the National Park Service crew as we tackle invasive species removal around Cravens House and help care for one of Chattanooga’s most iconic climbing areas.

Whether you’re looking to earn some trail karma, give back to the places you love, or work toward your Trail Daze of Summer prizes, we’d love to have you out there.

Huge thanks to all of our volunteer Board Members who made the trip to Chattanooga for our Annual Board Meeting! We covered a lot of ground during three hours of productive discussion—and even more ground during three hours of climbing afterward. We’re grateful for the time, energy, and passion this group brings to protecting and improving our climbing areas.

The first official Trail Daze of Summer BIG THREE is going down this Sunday at Foster Falls

Mellow Film Recap: It was a hit 👏

Over 150 of you showed up & showed out to not only watch awesome films, but also to support Climbing access in the southeast! Thanks to you we raised over $3500! 🎉

Big things are happening at Foster Falls — now part of Fiery Gizzard State Park👏

Thanks to a federally funded, state-administered RTP grant, the SCC Field Crew + Access Fund Conservation Team recently kicked off 8 weeks of major trail improvements.

Phase 1 of the project focuses on Climbers Access 1 & 2 to improve the connection between the rim trail and climbers trail to create safer, more sustainable access for years to come. Using dry stone masonry to construct stone stairs, the crews are building long-lasting infrastructure designed to stabilize the steep hillside and withstand heavy use. 🪨⛰️

Huge shoutout to Andrea from Access Fund along with former SCC staff members Kate + Meg for the hard work that went into securing this grant funding 👏 And if you see the crews out there sweating on the hillside, make sure to give them a big thank you!

Every Saturday during the project there will be volunteer Trail Days open to the community! Come put in some work, learn trail building skills, and help protect one of the Southeast’s most beloved climbing areas 💪

Happy Mother’s Day to all the badass moms out there 💪🌷

To the moms crushing projects, carrying crash pads, giving beta, handing out snacks, calming nerves, cheering from below, and somehow still finding the energy to send hard — we see you 👏

The boulderfield is better because of moms like you. Thank you for raising strong, adventurous little crushers and the next generation of climbers, stewards, and protectors of these wild places we all love. ❤️

Cinco de Mayo was a hit 👏🌮

We sold over 230 tacos, cleared out boxes of old SCC tees + gear from years past, and spent the day doing what this community does best — showing up, hanging out, and building stoke together.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out, grabbed food, shopped the yard sale, and supported SCC along the way 💛

A massive shoutout to our friends + partners at for helping make events like this possible. From funding to logistics to always showing up for the community, we truly couldn’t do it without them 👏

Now we’re keeping the momentum rolling — we hope to see many of you at Mellow tonight for an evening of incredible films, climbing inspiration, and even more community.
