Widows Harvest Ministries

Widows Harvest Ministries Non-profit ministry providing for widows through prayer and home repairs. Who is considered a widow? You do not have to walk alone.

Since 1987, Widows Harvest Ministries has assisted widows who live in the Chattanooga area with home repairs, as well as providing a community of prayer. Our mission is to plead the case of, provide assistance to, and promote the spiritual growth and ministries of widows. With a strong desire to care for widows through home repairs and prayer, Widows Harvest wants to empower widows to understand w

ho they are and that they are not forgotten. While society and the government might describe a widow as someone who has lost her husband, Widows Harvest believes anyone without a husband can fall under this classification. If a husband abandons his family or divorces his wife, that woman is seen as widowed. We want to serve, empower, and encourage prayer in the lives of all those who are a part of our mission. Currently we have approximately 50 to 60 widows who meet for prayer for the city, the church, and each other each week. A luncheon is also provided by volunteers following the prayer time. CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON 2025

Last Tuesday was our last widow's prayer ministry gathering for the year. Lunch was provided by Silverdale Baptist Church from Wally's restaurant. The widows always use this opportunity to share gifts and cards with each other as well as to give special thanks to those who volunteer to serve with them each week. This year they included in their recognitions a Christmas tree for me that they all brought decorations for and presented to me fully decorated. It is always a very special celebration for us all.

ST. TIMOTHY'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON WITH OUR PRAYER MINISTRY WIDOWS.

For over 25 years the women's ministry at St. Timothy's has been sponsoring a Christmas celebration with our widows. In earlier years the widows traveled to their church on Signal Mountain, but circumstances changed and they began to bring the meal down to us. This is one of the events that the widows anticipate every year and is always such a wonderful time of great food and fellowship.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers that have been caring for 2 widows with lawn care needs are no longer able to meet these needs. These are not big jobs that involve mowing and w**d eating primarily. Both widows live in urban neighborhoods so their yards are fairly small. this is a perfect opportunity for a family that wants to serve together, or parents that want to model serving with their children. Of course, it is also an opportunity for other volunteer individuals or groups as well. If you would like more information please call our office, 423-304-5271 or email us: [email protected]. This is a really wonderful opportunity "to cause a widow's heart to sing with joy," (Job 29:13-16).

Delores (DeLo) Domineck, long, long time member of our widows prayer ministry, met Jesus face to face on December 30th, 2024. To say that she will be missed cannot begin to express the way her absence will be felt by so many friends and family who knew, and loved her.
