WeAre#NEXT

WeAre#NEXT WeAre promotes links between student interests and community service.

WeAre hosts yearly symposiums for representatives from each middle school in Hamilton County. These symposiums utilize an area of student interest as a focus for inspiring community leadership and connection. These sessions are followed by a summer collaborative showcase, which serves as a practicum for utilizing student talents in community service. WeAre also serves as a connector between the students of Hamilton County, community leaders, and interested citizens.

We gave a copy of Mr. Lewis’ award winning graphic novel “March” to every student. His story is amazing, challenging and inspirational. I hope there are a few chapters left to write.

Mr. Lewis said he had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, but would return to Washington to continue work and begin treatment.

Now that the move has been made, I will be getting back to completing what we started with WeAre . I have heard from only a few of the students who came to our summer collaboratives about their art for display. Please let me know if you have completed your art, and I will let you know where to send it. Thanks! ~Brian
