A small village gained new hope when a JFA Bible Worker made a connection and helped set up an evening school. In this episode, we interview the first girl in this village to graduate from High School. She decided to come back and teach in her village to give other girls a chance at a better life.

🌏 Pray for the Bengali of Malaysia 🌏

The Bengali first migrated to Malaysia from West Bengal, India in the early 1900s, many serving in plantations as supervisors and medical assistants. Today, the third generation thrives as professionals while still holding onto their rich culture, language, and traditions. 💫

Though 85% of Bengali in Malaysia are Muslims, a small community of about 2,500 Hindu, celebrate colorful festivals like Durga Pooja, Kali Pooja, and Poila Boishakh (Bengali New Year)—each filled with music, prayers, and vibrant cultural practices.

With a growing number of in*******al marriages and outside influences, younger generations risk losing touch with their heritage. To address this, community groups now offer Bengali language classes for both children and adults.

Pray that efforts to preserve culture won’t create isolation.

Pray for committed believers to lovingly share Christ in ways sensitive to Bengali culture and needs.

There are more children who want to come—but there simply isn’t room. 💔

Generous donors have given a $40,000 Challenge Grant! The challenge is to raise an additional $40,000 in the next 30 days to unlock $80,000 toward improvements to Manipur School 🏫❤️

This school has seen as many as 80 students sharing just 40 beds, with two children crowded into each bed. Eventually, the school had no choice but to send half of the children home.

And the need goes beyond dorm space.

📚 Students can currently attend only through 10th grade. Completing the second story of the school building would allow the school to provide education through high school.

🛏️ Additional dormitories would give more children a safe place to stay.

🍚 The tiny, primitive kitchen is struggling to prepare enough food for the growing student body. A new cafeteria and kitchen would make meals safer and more practical—especially during storms, when children currently have to cross the muddy courtyard in the rain just to eat.

The foundation is there. The rebar is already reaching upward. The next story is waiting to be built.

For this family, the Evening School has brought something priceless: peace. ❤️

With five children to care for, they once worried about how they would provide for their family. But now, as their children receive food, education, and loving care at the Evening School, they are experiencing God’s provision in a tangible way.

A young man looks forward to growing up in Australia with his beautiful wife but realizes the call to sacrifice all for the kingdom of Jesus Christ and decides that they will go anywhere, do anything, for any length of time, at any cost. Now, 40 years later, Tim has written a book about the result of that decision.
