Grateful to Mayor Kelly and his staff for submitting, and to the Chattanooga City Council for approving, Resolution #32846.

This important resolution updates the EIG to strengthen our Injured on Duty policy. Most notably, it includes a Cancer Presumption provision—ensuring that all Chattanooga firefighters are covered with a health presumption for all cancers.

A meaningful step forward in protecting those who put their lives on the line for our community.

HCSO Announces the Death of Deputy Landon Faulkner

Hamilton County, TN – Sheriff Austin Garrett, Chief Deputy Spencer Daniels, and the men and women of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are greatly saddened to announce the death of Deputy Landon Faulkner.

Deputy Faulkner was involved in a serious collision on Highway 111, where he collided with a disabled vehicle in a travel lane on Wednesday evening, and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Faulkner began working for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in 2022, after serving as both a deputy and corrections deputy in Grundy County for almost three years. He also graduated from the Knoxville Police Department’s Explorer Cadet program in 2017.

Please join us as we keep the deputy’s family, friends, and colleagues in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating this incident, and all further questions about the vehicle collision should be directed to their agency.

Proceeds from the plate directly support the Tennessee Fire Fighters Emergency Relief Fund — a fund that has assisted thousands of IAFF firefighters across our state during times of unexpected financial hardship.

Depending on your county, you may need a letter from your local union officer or a copy of your IAFF membership card to purchase the plate.
