A Paw And A Prayer Dog Rescue APAAP is a non-profit, SMALL-DOG and puppy rescue in Chattanooga, TN operated by volunteers and funded by monies collected from adoption fees and donations.

No local county/city/state funding. Please shop Amazon/smile and pick us! All A Paw and A Prayer dogs are seen by a licensed veterinarian. All adults are spay/neutered, heartworm tested, dewormed, given rabies and DAPP booster. All puppies are given deworming medication, age-appropriate shots, and spay/neutered if they meet the age/weight criteria determined by the vet. All adults and puppies are chipped as well! A Paw and A Prayer Rescue started from friends with a common bond - to help dogs that were abandoned, neglected and abused in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. We are volunteers who work other jobs and in our “spare” time we bring dogs into our home setting and begin the adoption process. We are not funded by any organization and operate from our own resources and donations. We rely entirely on the generosity of friends and strangers. Some dogs come to us by owners who no longer want them or who can no longer care for them. Often owners surrender their pets to local shelters and there is a chance that their beloved pet could be euthanized. This is where APAAP comes into the picture - we try to help reduce the number of pets turned into shelters. We also try to help our local shelters by pulling abandoned adoptable pets into our foster program. As APAAP has grown we have initiated a Foster Parent Program. Without our foster parents we could not pull and rescue as many dogs as we do. Amazon wishlist

Zeus with his foster sisters on game day 🏈

We posted Zeus a week or so ago - he was dangerously emaciated and a repeat foster took him in. She and her husband have been seriously monitoring his food and are getting him to a better body weight and will be ready for adoption soon! Doesn't he look happy and healthy! 🫶🏼❤️Judy

‼️ADOPTED

🐶🐶Meet Mr. Tommy🐶🐶
Tommy was returned today and we learned some things about him. He was not interested in the other dog in the home and was a bit nippy with small children. We think he is a full blooded Min Pin that is about 1.5 years old. He weighs about 12 pounds currently. He has been neutered, up to date on shots and has been dewormed and microchipped. He is not fully housetrained yet. If you're interested in Mr. Tommy, please fill out an application at the link below. If you have any questions, please text or call 423-598-2717.

🐾😍 MEET ZOEY AND MOCHA! 😍🐾
This beautiful duo are a BONDED PAIR of Pomski's (Husky/Pomeranian mix).
THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER! They are both 10 years old and weigh around 30 pounds each. Zoey is the beautiful gray and white one with the mismatched eyes and Mocha is the brown and white one with bright blue eyes. Both are very sweet natured. Zoey is the more outgoing one and Mocha is a little more reserved but super sweet. They are great with kids and other dogs. Have never been around Cats. Both are house trained. Spayed and neutered and up-to-date on shots. No behavioral issues whatsoever. They are used to being boarded and also do well when staying with pet sitters. Both are very well behaved and no trouble at all. If you would like to bring these beautiful dogs into your life by giving them a forever home then please click the link below to apply. You can click either link and would be applying to adopt both dogs. If you have additional questions, please call or text the office at 423-598-2717. Penny (previously Schnitzel) is so so smart and doing great with potty training. She’s a couch potato all day until about dinner time and then she’s a Tasmanian devil 🤣 She and my 8-year old are best buds and she’s really settled into the family.
