We love stewarding our local watersheds that host so much life and so many adventures. Some of these places are a real mess, but we have hope that they will be restored in time, and we believe we can and should play a role!

Our students have been out for the past couple of weeks participating in the annual Tennessee River Rescue, coordinated by Waterways. This is our 4th year taking part, and the kids now look forward to it every fall.

This work takes us all over the Tennessee River and its tributaries, sometimes putting our paddling skills to work to remove hard-to-reach litter. We love to see the kids engaged in such purposeful work, which is part of what makes YES more than just activities.

Every semester, we see participants come back stronger, more confident on rock, more comfortable in the water, more at ease trying something new.

Our program is built to grow with them, layering new challenges onto the skills they've already earned, so each return semester means real progress, not just repetition, along with new adventure sites we add each semester. That's what keeps families choosing YES, season after season.

"All five of our children, ages nine to seventeen, chose to re-up with YES for next semester. To us, that speaks volumes about how well this program understands the active, educational, and social needs of students and delivers!"

That's what a semester with YES looks like: real skills, real growth, and real adventures kids want to come back for.

Spring registration is open for our returning YES families. 🥾🧗🏼🛶

We love watching our kids come back season after season, building on skills they've already learned and adding new ones: a stronger paddle stroke, more confident climbing, a little more grit on the trail. Each new semester is a chance to hone their skills, grow in character through challenging new experiences, and deepen friendships.

Join us for another season of outdoor adventure: rock climbing, paddling, rappelling, hiking, swimming, stewardship, and more in the wild areas around Chattanooga.

Spots fill fast! Register now to secure your child's place again before registration opens more broadly.
