AMERICA 250 MOMENT:
Today we remember. Today, as Memorial Day week closes, we give thanks for men and women whose love of country, freedom and self-determination cause them to step forward, raise their hands and serve in our armed forces. Today we shed tears with the families who mourn.

Today, I remember the young men of my generation who died in Vietnam.

Tennessee, always the Volunteer State, lost so many sons; their names are recorded here so that we can say thank you while asking peace for their families.

🎣 Fishing With a Veteran Tournament — Registration Now Open! 🇺🇸

Project Gallantly Forward is proud to announce the 2026 Fishing with a Veteran Tournament November 7, 2026

This isn’t just a day on the water — it’s a chance to give Veterans space to breathe, connect, and heal alongside people who truly understand their journey. Last year’s inaugural tournament SOLD OUT with 25 teams and 26 Veterans, and the stories, camaraderie, and impact were unforgettable.

This year, we’re aiming even bigger. We expect to serve 35–50 Veterans, and we’re calling on our community to help make this event extraordinary.

🌟 How You Can Support:
We’re seeking donations of fishing gear, outdoor items, and prize contributions — plus local Pros willing to serve as boaters for the day. Sponsors will be featured on all promotional materials and event advertising.

🏅 Sponsorship Tiers:
Platinum – $2000
Gold – $1500
Silver – $1000
Bronze – $500

Every contribution directly supports Veterans in finding connection, calm, and community — something that can truly change a life.

Message us if you're interested in sponsorship opportunites.

Chattanooga is more than the birthplace of the Medal of Honor tradition during the Civil War — it is also the final resting place of multiple Medal of Honor Recipients whose stories continue to shape American history.

Among them is Desmond Doss, the World War II combat medic whose courage at Okinawa inspired Hacksaw Ridge. Doss now rests in Chattanooga alongside fellow Recipients including Charles Coolidge, Larry Taylor, Ray Duke, William Zion, members of the Andrews' Raiders, and others connected to the Medal of Honor legacy.

These sites serve as quiet reminders that the people behind these extraordinary actions were human beings — individuals shaped by conviction, sacrifice, service, and character.

At the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center, those stories continue to be preserved and shared for future generations.
