Join us Tomorrow Friday April 10th for an enlightening Zoom presentation and discussion with Ms. Charlotte Bergmann, who is running a third time for the Republican nomination to serve as Congresswoman from Tennessee's 9th District.

Charlotte is a lifelong resident of Memphis who recalls the HayDay of Memphis in the early 1960's before the tragic events that unfolded at the Lorraine Motel on April 4, 1968.

Charlotte Bergmann's book titled The Last Trumpet speaks to the bygone era when Memphis was the undisputed greatest City in the South. With brilliant corporate leaders like Kemmons Wilson, founder of Holiday Inns and others, Memphis surpassed Dallas and Atlanta in population and appeal.

Charlotte experienced the unfortunate demise of her grandson in one of Memphis's all-too-frequent turf wars that have made the Bluff City synonymous of Crime.

Happily, in recent years, the world's wealthiest man, Elon Musk has made a priority of his xAi Colussus supercomputer in southwest Memphis. Add to that the focus of President Trump and Senator Blackburn to bring National Guard troops to calm the streets of Memphis. Both investments are having positive effects - but more must be done!

We hope to upload a recorded copy of Charlotte's talk on Friday, but please join us in person!

We were happy to welcome Tony Hullender to address our members, guests AND the Times-Free Press reporter and photographer! Their ability to resist our delicious buffet is extraordinary. As is our tradition, member Neil Thompson asked the more probing questions!

Tony Hullender, 65, said he rejects labels like RINO, or Republican in name only, while speaking to a group of Civitan Club members Friday.

🎨 Why Public Art Matters in Chattanooga

In a recent presentation, Jay Heavilon shared the powerful story behind Montague Sculpture Fields and why this free public sculpture park is such a vital community asset.

Montague Sculpture Fields is a 34–35 acre park featuring nearly 60 monumental sculptures valued at approximately $2.7 million. Open daily from sunrise to sundown and free to the public, the park strengthens community connection, improves well-being, activates underused land, and attracts visitors from across the region—supporting local culture and economic growth.

Because of a long-standing deed agreement, the park receives no city funding and operates entirely as a nonprofit, relying on donations, memberships, sponsorships, events, and volunteers to remain accessible to everyone.

A major highlight of the presentation was the upcoming installation of ISIS by Mark Di Suvero—one of the most significant monumental sculptures of the 20th century. Approximately $100,000 is needed to transport, refurbish, and install this iconic work, which will further elevate the park’s national profile.

Montague Sculpture Fields also hosts signature events, festivals, and educational partnerships that connect art, education, and community.

👉 How you can help:
• Visit the park and attend events
• Donate or sponsor an artwork or program
• Join the Anchor Society or Ambassador Club
• Volunteer or help spread the word
• Support the fundraising effort to bring ISIS to Chattanooga

Public art builds community—and Montague Sculpture Fields is a shining example. 💙
