At events and elsewhere, people often express an interest in switching from ICE to PHEV rather than jump in the deep end. While I don't think it's productive to diss PHEVs when talking to people about moving from ICE to EV, I do think this article is on target. (And consider the source: Motor Trend.)

As we approach the Drive Electric Festival this Saturday, we wanted to outline the day's events for all registered and attending.

Time Line of Arrival - The EVent is open to the public from 11 AM until 3 PM on Saturday, September 30th.

Exhibitors should plan on arriving after 10:00 before car show participants to set up their displays and position any EVs nearby. If exhibitors arrive in a non-electric vehicle, we ask that once unloaded, you move your vehicle to the separate public parking area that is available to you at no cost. We ask that car show participants arrive after 10:15 AM. There will be two tents/canopies set up for sign-in: 1) exhibitors/car participants and 2) the public. We aim to have everyone situated before the event opens to the public at 11 AM.

Volunteers will direct you to your designated space. LET US KNOW if you’re coming late or have any special requirements to stage your presence! Be aware that many EVs and exhibitors are registered, some with large commercial vehicles. If car show participants and/or exhibitors cannot remain for the entire four hours, let us know upon check-in for adequate placement. This is a RAIN OR SHINE event, so be prepared as such. You are welcome to bring folding chairs to place near your EVs. Remember to bring sunscreen, sunglasses & hats!

Dave Graham here from Drive Electric Scenic City (DESC)! I invite you to meet with us this coming Sunday, July 16th, at Cars & Coffee, sponsored by Quick Everett’s Garage. It is a drive-in event downtown in the 1200 block on Riverfront Parkway, nearby the site where we held the Drive Electric Festival last October. It is free and open to ALL car enthusiasts. Cars & Coffee is held on the third Sunday on odd months throughout the year. The event will take place between 8 am until 12 noon. However, the busiest time tends to be from 9 - 11 am. If you know of others who may be interested in joining our EV cause, please invite them to come as well. Hope to see you soon!

The Knoxville Electric Vehicle Association is hosting the 3rd annual EVs in the Smokies on Saturday, July 8th, 10am - 4pm, at Peaceful Side Social in Townsend, TN, just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
