Since you asked, our cutie pie Augie has had all his puppy shots and is ready for his forever family!

Augie is almost 4 months old. He would THRIVE in a home with another dog or two who could show him the ropes. He’s dog-friendly and cat-curious.

Augie is likely a chihuahua-Labrador mix. Judging from his growth velocity, his smallish feet, and his elongated legs, he should eventually fall into the “medium size” category.

Augie is a hoot! He’s currently in foster in L.A., scheduling play dates. DM us if you want him to meet your pack!

We needed another black pittie like we needed a hole in the head. Or another vet bill. Or a storage unit full of donated dog beds.

But then we met Twinkle. And here we are.

Twinkle checks just about every box on the average adopter's wish list: young, under 45 pounds, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and cute enough to stop traffic. (Cats remain an unanswered question.)

She's the kind of dog who probably would have been adopted straight from the shelter. Eventually. Maybe. But she'd already been there a month, and apparently nobody got the memo about how fabulous she is.

So we took her.

We're still getting to know Twinkle, but so far she's a delightful little package of pittie-frenchie perfection. Being a charming, squishy-faced brachycephalic girl, she prefers her adventures in moderation. Short walks? Absolutely. Car rides? Yes, please. Fun with friends? Sign her up. Air conditioning? Nonnegotiable.

She's a cutie patootie with a face that could launch a thousand baby-talk conversations.

We'll announce when Twinkle is officially available for adoption. In the meantime, please join us in admiring her considerable loveliness.

Because apparently, when it comes to black pitties, we have absolutely no self-control.

Miss Waffles is a victim of her own enthusiasm. She's a spunky little potato who loves to run around and do the roly-polies.

She has a syndrome called "internal hyperthermia" which means she overheats when it's hot. It is manageable--but ultimately she could use a home in a cooler neighborhood. Maybe yours?

Big shout-out to L.A. Controller Kenneth Mejia and Jackie at for finally cracking a problem every L.A. pet parent has quietly cursed at 2 a.m.: where do you actually find spay/neuter services that don't cost a kidney — or better yet, cost nothing?

Enter this ridiculously useful map. Access the map, and real providers pop up — free and low-cost options anyone can find in seconds. No more falling down a Google rabbit hole at midnight.
