In 2018, as part of my Bat Mitzvah preparation as a 13 year old, I organized a community project to provide care packages for people who are homeless in Los Angeles. With the help of about 60 large companies, small businesses and nonprofit organizations, I exceeded my goal of assembling over 100 care packages throughout many parts of Los Angeles. I am super excited to be in the process of assembli
ng 500 care packages and look forward to helping more people who are facing homelessness in Los Angeles. Here's the Back Story of Bundles of Kindness:
According to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, in 2020 there were 66,436 people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County. Over the last several years in my day-to-day life, I have witness homeless men, women, children and families battle homelessness. Because I believe that everyone deserves to have their basic needs met, I was compelled to personally do something to make a difference. When I was younger, I made many small efforts to help by giving snacks to people in need whenever my family and I were in the car. I also volunteered to make sandwiches with interfaith efforts to feed people who were hungry. This was all great, but I felt the need to do something more substantial. Boom! Bundles of Kindness was born! Thank you to all of the corporate and individual donors who are helping me help others!
