Bundles of Kindness

Bundles of Kindness My name is Rachael. My efforts to help people who are homeless have been reported in local and national news. I even delivered full meals from my family kitchen.

In 2018, as part of my Bat Mitzvah preparation as a 13 year old, I organized a community project to provide care packages for people who are homeless in Los Angeles. With the help of about 60 large companies, small businesses and nonprofit organizations, I exceeded my goal of assembling over 100 care packages throughout many parts of Los Angeles. I am super excited to be in the process of assembli

ng 500 care packages and look forward to helping more people who are facing homelessness in Los Angeles. Here's the Back Story of Bundles of Kindness:

According to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, in 2020 there were 66,436 people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County. Over the last several years in my day-to-day life, I have witness homeless men, women, children and families battle homelessness. Because I believe that everyone deserves to have their basic needs met, I was compelled to personally do something to make a difference. When I was younger, I made many small efforts to help by giving snacks to people in need whenever my family and I were in the car. I also volunteered to make sandwiches with interfaith efforts to feed people who were hungry. This was all great, but I felt the need to do something more substantial. Boom! Bundles of Kindness was born! Thank you to all of the corporate and individual donors who are helping me help others!

A tremendous thank you to the anonymous donor who generously provided brand new jeans, jackets, and cosmetics for Bundles of Kindness. These items will be distributed at upcoming outreach events to support our unhoused neighbors.

The makeup is especially appreciated. Small things that many take for granted can help people experiencing homelessness feel a sense of dignity, confidence, and normalcy during incredibly difficult times. Thank you for helping people feel seen, cared for, and valued. If you can, please consider making a donation (link in bio).

Rain or shine, life on the streets is incredibly hard. Something as simple as an umbrella can make a huge difference for someone trying to stay dry during unexpected rain or find a little shade during extreme heat.

Bundles of Kindness is currently seeking donations of new or gently used umbrellas for unhoused individuals in our community. Many of the people we serve spend hours outside every day walking, waiting for services, or simply trying to rest safely. An umbrella can offer comfort, protection, and privacy.

If you have umbrellas you no longer use, please consider donating them so they can go directly into the hands of someone who truly needs them. Umbrellas can also be purchased directly from the Bundles of Kindness Amazon Wish List linked in the comments. Donations can be dropped off in the San Fernando Valley. Please message us for details.

Thank you for helping us provide small acts of kindness that make difficult days a little more bearable.

Outside of a grocery store, I met Sharon, a woman who appeared to be around 70 years old, sitting in a wheelchair. She shared that she had lost both her home and her car. Despite the hardships she’s facing, she was incredibly sweet, polite, and kind.

Bundles of Kindness was able to provide her with a meal, and she expressed such heartfelt gratitude. Moments like this are a reminder that even small acts of compassion can make someone feel seen, cared for, and remembered.

Your support helps Bundles of Kindness continue reaching people like Sharon with food, essentials, and dignity (link in comments)

We were grateful to share clothing, shoes, socks, underwear, menstrual hygiene products, dog treats, and snacks with clients visiting the West Valley Food Pantry. It was incredibly meaningful to connect with individuals living in their cars, as well as families with young children, and offer a little extra support during challenging times.

Every item distributed was a reminder that small acts of kindness can make an actual difference. We hope each visitor left feeling cared for, uplifted, and better equipped to continue their journey toward stability and security.

A big shoutout to the West Valley Food Pantry for partnering with us and for the essential work they do every day to serve our community. Their dedication helps ensure that neighbors facing hardship know they are not alone.

It was great to join Project ReWear at their warehouse sale over the weekend and share how Bundles of Kindness is helping keep clothing out of landfills by placing it directly into the hands of people experiencing homelessness.

We also had the opportunity to tell shoppers about Lois’ Paw Packs and the support they provide to pets living alongside their unhoused owners. Every conversation was a reminder of how small acts of generosity can create a meaningful impact for both people and their beloved pets.

A big thank you to Project ReWear for the continued partnership and for their commitment to giving clothing a second life while helping those who need it most.
