Let’s take story hour outside! Join CLC and the New Lebanon Library to enjoy the sights and sounds of Hand Hollow.

Start your day with story hour and stay for a scavenger hunt through the trails. Explore with magnifying glasses and nets, and look for animals that call the stream home. 🔍️

Take a look behind the scenes at the Taghkanic Community Forest! CLC and dedicated volunteers have been hard at work this spring getting the forest ready for opening day.

Sheds are built, trail signs are up, many invasive plants removed, and native trees and shrubs now growing in their place. All that's left is to enjoy opening day! Who's ready?

The first Land Camp of the series may be over, but the lessons are just taking root! 🌱 Attendees of the Pond Planting and Riparian Restoration workshop learned how to use native species plantings to build riparian buffers around ponds. The group planted native cuttings around the pond at Schor as part of a hands-on demonstration. Special thanks to Dylan Cipkowski, Executive Director of the Columbia County Soil and Water District, for leading this event. Interested in attending the remaining Land Camp workshops? To celebrate 40 years of caring for land together, CLC is inviting volunteers to partake in some friendly competition. The Top 40 Volunteers Challenge spotlights the volunteers who help make conservation happen.

The rules are simple – log volunteer hours with CLC to land a spot among the Top 40. From trail stewards and independent volunteers to work party regulars, every hour counts!

Last weekend, CLC competed in the second annual Wild Cider Cup with Nine Pin Cider. The Wild to the Core cider, consisting entirely of apples harvested in Columbia County, placed second among five local land conservancies!

Thank you to Nine Pin for hosting such a fun event, and to everyone who showed up to be part of an awesome day. And congratulations to our friends at Saratoga Plan for the win!

Weren't able to make the event? No worries! Conservancy ciders will be on the menu at Nine Pin for a limited time. A portion of the proceeds from sales of Wild to the Core is being generously donated to CLC.

The Greenport pollinator patch is looking bee-autiful after all the hard work! 🐝 Volunteers remulched paths, pulled non-native weeds, and planted native species.
