Another great Morris After School season in the books!

Student's were invited to celebrate a great year at the Morris this past Friday following an early dismissal to enjoy a free pancake lunch. We are excited to share that we hosted nearly 120 students - quite possibly our largest single day turn-out to date!

Thank you to all of the parents who donated pancake mix, juice, fruit, icepops and supplies to make our last day such a special one.

Thank you to our parent volunteers for cooking hundreds of pancakes, our several middle and high school volunteers for serving and to the Morris's after school staff for making our program such a success. Finally, thank you to the community at large for continuing to support our organization and our various youth and community services.

Students were treated with a very generous donation of fresh apple cider donuts and apple cider today!

Big thanks to John and Ashley Hanson (Zarah's parents) for surprising us with this unexpected snack.

In addition to this afternoon's donation, the Macagnone family has delivered several large bags of Golden Harvest apples as a healthy snack for our after school members throughout the year. Thank you!

Congratulations on an amazing performance by members of Bindlestiff After School yesterday! Performers showcased a variety of circus-art skills for family and friends following months of weekly classes and hard work. Thank you to everyone who came to support our young performers!

Morris Memorial presents "Kids' Night Out!" - Support this great event!

We cordially invite children residing within the Chatham School District to attend this spring's "Kids' Night Out" dance party at the Morris Memorial!

3rd-4th: Friday, March 13th, 6-8pm
K-2nd: Saturday, March 14th, 3-5pm
5th-6th: Saturday, March 14th, 6-8pm

- Students will be encouraged to dress in light clothing, or anything that will work well under our glow lights.

- Volunteers will be transforming the Morris into a glow-themed party scene with snacks, facepaint, glow-accessories, a photo booth, fun activities and of course, dancing. Morris staff, parent chaperones and volunteer high school students, will supervise the dance to ensure a fun and safe event.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped support the Morris Memorial's Youth Travel Basketball program yestderday during our pancake breakfast fundraising event! We are so grateful to everyone who came out to the event, donated food and supplies, and donated financially toward the cause.

Thank you to Morris Board member Colleen Nack for organizing this event, all of our player, coach and parent volunteers, everyone who donated toward the event's raffle and the Chatham Fire Department for being so accomodating and allowing us to use their facility.

Super Stories and Morris After-School students are off to a great start creating murals for the Morris's gymnasium!

Artists Romiro and Grace from Super Stories visited our after school program earlier this month to work with students to generate art using markers and computer paper. They pulled several of those images and replicated them on 19 plywood window coverings surrounding the gym, and are helping students paint them using a color-by-number approach this week.

We are very excited to brighten up our space with student made art. Completed murals will be installed soon - stay tuned for the final product!

Murals are being created with and for the children of our community in loving memory of Anita Fiorillo—a devoted board member, friend, and champion of the arts.
