Reading is a powerful tool for community growth, and seeing such a strong commitment to literacy is truly inspiring! 📚

We love celebrating the passion for learning within our community. When libraries thrive, our neighborhoods grow stronger, and literacy programs like this one create lasting impacts for readers of all ages.

A huge congratulations to all the readers and staff at the Library of the Chathams for reaching such an incredible milestone. It is a wonderful reminder of how much we can achieve when we come together to support the love of reading.

This summer, the Library of the Chathams gave children, teens, and adults plenty of reasons to put down their phones, step away from screens, pick up a book and come to the library. The Library’s...

A major milestone for our Library renovation project!

On Monday evening, the Chatham Borough Council committed $1,111,000 from its 2027 budget toward the Library of the Chathams renovation.

We are sincerely grateful to the Borough Council for listening, hearing from residents, asking thoughtful questions, and carefully considering this important investment. With Chatham Township having also committed to the project on July 14, both governing bodies have demonstrated how deeply they value our shared Library and its future.

Thank you as well to everyone who attended meetings, signed the petition, wrote letters, spoke during public comment, and shared information with friends and neighbors. Your voices helped bring us to this moment.

These commitments give the project tremendous momentum as we look ahead to building private support from individuals, families, businesses, and foundations to help complete this once-in-a-generation investment in our Library.

There is much more ahead, and we are excited to continue this journey together!
