F-R-E-E employs a grassroots, bottom-up approach to community building in Bosnia, and never seeks to become an invasive or controlling presence in the areas where we work. In addition, we do not provide any large material donations. Any materials used for our workshops are purchased locally whenever possible, as shipping large and expensive products wastes valuable money from our donors, and can a
lso increase an unnecessary sense of materialism, particularly problematic when working with youth. Any activity that we use in our workshops can be carried out using local products, and can easily be carried on once our programs are over. We seek first and foremost to engage and excite, based on the belief that these are the gateways to true progress and advancement.
