Every March, the Pittsylvania County NAACP Youth Council celebrates women in our community. This year’s honoree was Mrs. Dorothy Gilbert, an African American entrepreneur, pioneer, Home Extension member, and NAACP member. Council members along with members of the Pittsylvania County NAACP visited Mrs. Gilbert last weekend and presented her with a plaque to demonstrate our appreciation for her endeavors.

Every March, the Pittsylvania County NAACP Youth Council celebrates women in our community. We would like to highlight Breaujah Carter. Breaujah Carter is a young, multi-faceted entrepreneur with a passion for community mentorship and development. A proud US Army veteran, and she is also a graduate of Hampton University, where she honed both leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Committed to making a positive impact, Breaujah advocates for initiatives that empower and uplift communities through mentorship and development programs. Breaujah also encourages her mentees to become involved within their community through her annual back to school drive and sponsoring their Youth Council membership.

With no cure, it is imperative that we identify symptoms early to delay progression! Take a moment to decide whether you are experiencing early symptoms or if you’re in the group that is at a higher risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
