One of the many blessings of our Chatham Community Food Distribution ministry is the way God brings people and opportunities together in unexpected ways. A couple of months ago, Onica Fournillier learned about our Community Food Distribution while bringing a child she cares for to Play and Say classes held in our church building. As she walked through the lower level, she noticed the shelves stocked with non-perishable food, and the food donation box outside the back door. Curious, she stopped by the church office to inquire about our ministry. Then she asked a generous question: "Would you be interested in freshly cooked meals to distribute one Wednesday afternoon?"
A couple of weeks later, true to her word, Onica arrived with beautifully prepared, freshly cooked dinners for the guests who would come to the Community Food Distribution that afternoon. The meals were nutritious, delicious, and warmly appreciated by our guests.
Originally from Trinidad, Onica is the owner of Scarlet Caterers in Newark, New Jersey, where she specializes in flavorful Caribbean-inspired cuisine. We are deeply grateful for her generosity and willingness to share her gifts with our community. Her thoughtful act of kindness is a wonderful reminder that God often uses the talents and compassion of individuals to bless others in practical and meaningful ways.
