"The Mecca wasn’t just a building — it was part of growing up in Chase City. There was not much to do except work a bit and get your homework done. (at least at my house!) The excitement of a new movie was great, and I still have that feeling when hearing about a new film.
We’re glad so many people still care about it."
WE WILL MAKE THIS A REALITY!

This is how the area looks right now. This is where the concession stand was, next to the door to the staircase.

The Mecca Theatre is still very much part of this community 💛
We have been working on the funding for the renovation for almost 10 years, and it amazes me that we continue to hear stories from the community on The Mecca. They are always fond memories. Please share any you have.

We’ve love seeing people still talk about the Mecca after all these years. Thank you for keeping its memories alive 💛
