Pippin has been found safe!

Pippin is still missing as of 3:15pm Monday 9/7. One of our neighbors just had their Boston terrier, Pippin, escape from their yard at 1008 Glendale Road. If you see Pippin please send us a message or take him to Becca Tamony Peters at that address. His tag should have their phone number on it too!

A section of the Rivanna Trail in the area of 0 East High Street and Free Bridge will be temporarily closed today to support the coordinated transition of individuals from the riverfront encampment.

Community members are asked to avoid this section of the trail and give City staff and community partners the space needed to support today’s transition.

The City will provide an update once this section of the trail has reopened.

⚠️ TRAIL UPDATE: Northeast Park

A fallen tree has caused significant damage to the footbridge at Northeast Park. Crews are currently removing the tree, but the bridge will remain closed while we assess the damage and complete necessary repairs.

Please avoid the bridge and follow any posted closures in the area. We’ll share an update when the bridge is safe to reopen

🚨 Darden Towe Park Closure

Darden Towe Park will remain closed for the immediate future as crews work to safely clear trees and debris from the August 14 storms.

For your safety, please stay out of the park while cleanup operations are underway. We’ll provide updates when we have more information about reopening.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as crews work to make the park safe for our community.
