Flux Poetry and Spoken Word at UVA A spoken word poetry organization at the University of Virginia that promotes self-expression through writing, viewing, workshopping, and community.

Flux exists to promote self-expression and creativity of our members through the exploration of spoken word and slam poetry, whether this is writing, workshopping, viewing or critiquing this art form. We are creating a community where writers feel safe experimenting with words and hopefully presenting what they’ve written to their peers. Although this organization has members who are University of

Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.
