Join local preservation groups in Charlottesville, Va this Thursday, Oct. 15 to talk about the federal changes to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).

Congress created the NHPA in 1966 in response to the widespread loss of historic buildings and neighborhoods during post-WWII federal urban renewal and interstate highway construction projects, which occurred with no public input or review.

The event will include a film, story-sharing and letter writing to Congress.

👋 Come say hi to Piedmont Environmental Council’s Community Farm team during this weekend’s annual Loudoun Fall Farm Tour!

The farm has donated 45,000 pounds of produce to local food pantries this year alone and includes the first crop-based agrivoltaics project in Virginia, combining agriculture and solar to power the farm’s operations.

There will be guided tours Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18 at noon and 2 p.m.

Snapshots from our Farm Volunteer Appreciation Day last Saturday 🥰

There was locally sourced food, hot drinks on a cool morning, pumpkins and gourds on every surface, handmade stamps, and good vibes and good will overflowing.
