This Bedford Co man is powering his home with a home-made wind turbine made of scrap metal, solar panels and batteries for something like a golf cart. I found this news story to be fun and encouraging.

*For the record I disagree with the anchor's comment in the beginning. Renewable energy was ready to go mainstream yesterday. If this man can do it himself, the rest of us can do it in our own way too, and there are processionals out there that can help you do it, if you are ready. We can also pressure the decision-makers in Richmond to start getting with the program.
