The mission of Creciendo Juntos is to provide a platform for the voices, needs and wants of the Latinx community in Charlottesville and surrounding counties through education and leadership development. Creciendo Juntos (CJ) supports Latino families and Latino-serving organizations in Charlottesville and Albemarle County through education, advocacy and direct services. As a volunteer network of in

dividuals and organizations, our goal is to strengthen Central Virginia by ensuring all Latinos have access to the opportunities they deserve. Creciendo Juntos (CJ) apoya a las familias latinas y organizaciones que sirven a los latinos en Charlottesville y el condado de Albemarle, mediante la educación, la promoción y servicios directos. Last month we had the joy of celebrating our Creciendo Juntos Open House, and we are still feeling so grateful for everyone who made it such a special evening. It was wonderful to connect with so many community members and share this new space together. 💛
A special thank you to the Creciendo Juntos youth who volunteered their time to support the renovation and helped create the beautiful murals that now brighten our space.
We are also incredibly grateful to those who worked behind the scenes to make this possible. Steven and Karena for installing our new flooring, the volunteers who helped move furniture and clean in preparation, and our board members who spent countless hours supporting this project from start to finish. Thank you as well to everyone who shared our fundraiser and to those who contributed, helping make this project a reality.
The evening would not have been the same without the parents and supporters who prepared delicious food and desserts including pupusas, empanadas, and gelatina, making the gathering warm and welcoming for everyone.
Thank you to every community member who showed up in support.
This space was built by community and for community. We are truly growing together. 🌱

El mes pasado tuvimos la alegría de celebrar nuestra Casa Abierta de Creciendo Juntos, y todavía nos sentimos muy agradecidos con todas las personas que hicieron de esa noche algo tan especial. Fue maravilloso conectar con tantos miembros de la comunidad y compartir este nuevo espacio juntos. 💛
Un agradecimiento especial a los jóvenes de Creciendo Juntos que ofrecieron su tiempo como voluntarios para apoyar la renovación y ayudaron a crear los hermosos murales que ahora llenan de vida nuestro espacio.
También estamos profundamente agradecidos con quienes trabajaron detrás de escena para hacerlo posible. Steven y Karena por instalar nuestro nuevo piso, los voluntarios que ayudaron a mover muebles y limpiar en preparación para el evento, y nuestros miembros de la mesa directiva que dedicaron incontables horas apoyando este proyecto de principio a fin. Gracias también a todas las personas que compartieron nuestra recaudación de fondos y a quienes contribuyeron para hacer posible este proyecto.
La noche no hubiera sido la misma sin los padres, madres y personas que apoyan a la organización, quienes prepararon deliciosa comida y postres incluyendo pupusas, empanadas y gelatina, haciendo de la reunión un momento cálido y acogedor para todos.
Gracias a cada miembro de la comunidad que nos acompañó y mostró su apoyo.
Este espacio fue construido por la comunidad y para la comunidad. Realmente estamos creciendo juntos. 🌱

Our Giving Tuesday campaign was just the beginning — and it lasts all December!
This is our space today.
It’s where our youth gather, organize, plan, and lead. But it’s not yet the warm, vibrant hub they deserve.
Over the next month, you’ll hear directly from the youth themselves — and from our board — about what this space means to them and how it fuels leadership.

Our goal is to enter the new year with doors open and youth programming ready to go — workshops, trainings, and community events. To make this dream a reality, we need your help. Will you invest in the space and the young leaders who will thrive in it?

We don’t speak for young people.
We give them the tools to speak — and organize — for themselves.

Tomorrow is ‘Giving Tuesday’ — and we’re launching something bigger than a fundraiser.
We’re kicking off a December-long campaign to renovate our space so it can become a true home for Latino youth leadership in Charlottesville.

This space will hold conversations.
It will hold organizing.
It will hold futures.

We areso excited to announce our next hermana in solidarity of this work for this year's La Cultura Cura.
Chetna Mehta has been committed to sisterhood solidarity and full body wellness through a radical decolonial framework. Through her workshops, femmes across the world have been in community, connecting to joy, play, and creativity, nurturing all parts of our whole being. CJ invits our CVille sisters/Hermanas to this virtual space to explore the meaning of play in your creative practice and day to day presence. Join us this Friday at 6pm viz zoom.
