My name is Darius Carter I am currently chapter president of the UVA Chapter and a junior mechanical engineer. I am running for 2016-2017 Region 2 membership chair and would love your support! I have been a NSBE member since 2010 and I have been committed to NSBE leadership and its mission since then. My plans as membership chair include chapter expansion/collaboration, pipeline development, and membership development. My goal is to increase the number of members and chapters and also increase the overall satisfaction level of NSBE members. As chapter president I was able to increase our membership by 70% and hopefully as regional membership chair, I will connect chapters ( NSBE Jr., collegiate, and Professional) across the region to increase retention rates. In addition to strengthening our chapters, I will work with the zone coordinators and the professional executive board to reactivate and charter more chapters. A vote for me will be a vote for a stronger region which will help us reach our goal of graduating 10,000 members by 2020. Today is the day! We will be hosting a FREE career fair from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm in Newcomb Ballroom, right after the Engineering Career Fair! Please come take advantage of this opportunity to network with companies in a more intimate, less stressful setting. Business attire is required, and desserts will be served!
