Food Not Bombs needs your support! We’re fundraising to keep running, expand our capacity to distribute food & provide solidarity through the COVID crisis & beyond. Help us meet our goal of $2500. With your support we will do the following:

-1st $1500 will go towards investing in a larger van that will help us transport groceries, and invest in capabilities to keep perishables cold while transported.

-2nd $1000 is to expand into walk-in fridge space in partnership with Mutual Aid Disaster Relief. The funds will cover rent and utilities for 6 months, greatly expanding our capacity to prevent food waste and get it to more Richmonders. We are already working with MADR to find more food sources such as region-local and sustainable farms.

Each of these will not only help now in this current time of crisis but also plant seeds for the future.

CALL TO ACTION

As the economic, political and environmental crisis grow more urgent Food Not Bombs is often the place were people turn for organic vegan meals, groceries, information and emotional support. Food Not Bombs Groups are as busy as ever with the increase in poverty and homelessness. A Great Depression scale economic crisis may cause many more people to rely on their local Food Not Bombs group.
And with the Covid 19 epidemic the need has never been greater.

Do you like to grow and support your community.
Do you think Charities & Pantries are cool, but you think we can do better.
Then consider being part of FNB, please visit: http://foodnotbombs.net/
Read about how FNB started, Find out the 3 principals, and the 7 steps to start a FNB Chapter. Read the FNB Handbook. What do you think of "Not A Charity" section.
Ask yourself, Do you think ALL people are equal, regardless of race, gender, color, origin, etc. "Equal Period".
Do you feel comfortable working with people who do not look like you or sound like you, ?
Do you have confidence to stand up to old white bullies and raciest.
Does the site of an immigrant woman, screaming at an old white bigot, make you happy ?
If your answers are YES, then Join Us.

This is an effort to remake the local FNB group, and bring it to its pure origins, without the racism, bullying, greed and hierarchy. Where all members are dedicated to loving and serving our community and supporting actions to bring equality and justice to all.
If you like to join us, please read ALL the pages on FNB site again, the FAQ, Covid, Handbooks, etc.
