JVG was in the house at yesterday's amazing Virginia Education and Workforce Conference hosted by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. JVG alumni and former state career association officers Lexi Weiss and Zia Wigfall, along with specialist Beth Markwood, joined our state staff to share how JVG is helping students across Virginia find success after graduation.

Mack Trucks Industry Tour - Burton Center for Arts & Technology/ Roanoke County Career & Technical Center Auto III students participated in an industry tour at the Mack/Volvo campus in Salem, VA. After a comprehensive tour of the various production lines and product testing areas, JVG students were set loose in the training facility where they readily accepted the challenge to read blueprints and industry directions for assembly of doors, pedal shifters, compressors, chassis assembly, and alignment of electrical systems. Mack trainers were more than impressed with students' auto skills and professionalism. The visit concluded with students inviting Mack personnel to come visit the new RCCTC facility in December.

Congratulations to the 33 high schools across the state that met or exceeded the standards for JVG's Follow-Up Outcomes Award! This award measures connection with participants during the year after graduation; positive outcomes in education, military enlistment, or work; and overall graduation rates. Thanks and welcome back to all of the dedicated specialists that make these connections throughout the year.

Pictured here with her outstanding JVG Specialist, Mr. Brooks, Lillian, a rising senior at Tazewell Co. Career & Technical Center, proudly represented JVG and Virginia at the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Career Development Conference. Her talent, determination, and passion have already earned her at least one scholarship offer as she pursues her dream of becoming a forensic pathologist.

Students like Lillian are proof that opportunity, access, guidance, and support can change lives. Help us empower more young people to achieve their dreams by making a gift today at www.jobsforvagrads.org. Every donation helps JVG prepare Virginia's future workforce—one student at a time.

Need a little encouragement to finish the week strong? If so, you seriously need to check this out. Two of these amazing young performers, Mario and Zion, are Virginia's student representatives. They submitted video applications to be a part of a specialized team that would compose and perform the JAG Anthem "Amplified" in May. JVG is grateful to Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) for providing such outstanding opportunities to students across the country. We also would like to thank Rappahannock High School and Christiansburg High School for their partnership with JVG in supporting career exploration opportunities like this.

JVG Students at The Academy at Virginia Randolph put their skills to the test during an exciting escape room field trip! Through teamwork, collaboration, creative thinking, and critical thinking, they worked together to solve puzzles, overcome challenges, and accomplish their goals before time ran out.

This hands-on experience helped students strengthen communication skills, build confidence, and learn the importance of working together under pressure. We are proud of the determination, leadership, and problem-solving abilities they demonstrated throughout the day!

Our specialists follow up monthly with students for one year after graduation. The JVG team in Washington County had a brilliant idea to make sure their graduates know they are supported beyond HS. They bought these for each graduate including a QR code with their contact info.
Congratulations Class of 2026! Thanks to Ms. Walker & Mr. Roark for going the extra mile.
