Craft Aid Friends, Our partner is sewing projects, , needs our help! I know this is a weird ask, but we are begging you for a small favor! They just need a quick click to help them bring more support, care, and flowers to families at hospital. (And that means more sewing projects for us! 🙌)

LilyPads Housing is a finalist for a $10,000 (😱) grant from one of our local businesses. Winning this grant would help them do SO MUCH MORE for hospital families who are away from home and often facing one of the most difficult times in their lives. Happy Valentine's Day, friends! You all showed up BIG in spreading love this year!!! With this incredible community's help, the awesome volunteers of Cville Craft Aid, and donations from Bloomaker, Cville Sock Love, and Wegmans Charlottesville, we were able to put together 25 handmade tote bags stuffed with all sorts of goodies, survival supplies, and gorgeous amaryllis bulbs for the parents/caregivers of UVA Health Children's Hospital Cardiology patients! We also stocked the social workers' snack supply so that they would have treats to hand out to incoming families.

Pictured are the wonderful cardiology social workers, Maddi and Meredith, taking up two cart loads of gifts for the families!

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED! You certainly brought sunshine to families today!

We LOVED spreading LOVE to UVA Hospital families for Valentine’s Day!

These gorgeous comfort pads needed their own appreciation post ❤ Volunteers of Cville Craft Aid made these beautiful home-sewn heat/cold packs that were included in our Valentine totes for the caregivers/parents of patients at UVA. We know from experience how achy bodies get when spending days at the hospital and when experiencing stress. We're so grateful that these volunteers came together to offer families such a great support item!

Cville Craft Aid is back in action! Our amazing volunteers are sewing rice heating pads for LilyPads Housing to add to their Valentine’s self-care bags for UVA Health pediatric cardiology families. We had such an amazing response that we had to close down the request for these sewing kits to make them in just hours! A huge thanks to Sweetfire Road, Moda Fabrics United Notions, Spoonflower, and Red Raspberry Designs by Gillian Grimmett - Surface Design and Illustration for creating and donating these cute prints!

Atticus, Cville Craft Aid’s cat-in-residence and expert product tester, is a graduate of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. He spent almost a year there before his stellar biscuit making helped land him his “furever” home 10 years ago. As such, he gives the fleece cat mats our awesome volunteers are sewing for four paws up for their “plushiness” and “snugglebility” (technical terms). He can feel the love in every stitch and sends everyone that is helping to make our community shelter pets more comfortable a virtual biscuit (swipe right). We wrapped up our “Winter Warm-Up” project for the this week and our amazing volunteers are already busy sewing for our next project! We are showing some love to the dogs and cats awaiting their “furever” homes at Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA with quilted fleece mats, cat hammocks, and cat toys. We have been working behind the scenes to find and test some “stash buster” patterns. Isn’t this cat toy mouse the cutest!? 🐭 It’s also the puuurfect way to use up every remnant of our beautiful donated fabric from Moda. Win-win! 🙌 We hope to have these little mousie kits available soon for our current Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA project! (You can sign up to sew any kits we currently have available from our website.) Do you have any other community ideas for all of our small scraps? We’d love to hear them!

We are so excited to be able to donate 58 fleece hats and 100 adjustable cloth masks to the Haven today. Our wonderful volunteers worked really hard to get these finished quickly! We hope that they will help to keep more of our community safe and warm. If you would like to sew fleece hats for your community, the pattern is on our website. ❤️
