She was the founder of Seattle retail store . /Lauren currently serves as the Pres. of the Board of a non-profit organization that promotes quality, innovations, ethical sourcing, & best practices in the fine chocolate industry.

Ethan Budiansky/ serves as Sr. Director of Environment & leads overarching strategy on addressing enviro. sustainability across the cocoa sector. Heading both the Climate Smart Cocoa Program & the Cocoa and Forests Initiative, he helps cocoa & chocolate companies advance their environmental sustainability commitments, addressing deforestation & the impact of climate change in cocoa growing regions.
experience in climate change adaptation in agriculture, natural resource management, conservation, agroforestry and international development. Prior to joining WCF, he was Head of International Programs at Trees for the Future, where he managed agroforestry & sustainable agriculture programs in Africa & the Caribbean.

Since 2017 is the Sustainable Cocoa Specialist in , a UNDP project that focus on deforestation free production as a Ecuador´s REDD+ action plan.

We should strive to be language-inclusive and help achieve the best communication outcomes possible. As Betty Mkwinda-Nyasulu described in her article about the importance of language and communication in Malawi’s socio-economic development, “The primary purpose of language is communication. In turn, effective communication facilitates development. Communication is an important prerequisite of development and this is manifested through language. Language must be seen to be communicating the intended meaning as a vehicle to achieving set goals, and not an end in itself. These set goals in this case, would be education, national unity and/or identity, and socio-economic development.” Language and its role in communication, is the fundamental ingredient for relationship building, trade, business, learning and so much more. Have you been trying to connect with a new market that speaks a different language? Is translation holding you back from reaching them? We can help with a project you have in progress. This is completely free. Our volunteers will be taking on projects on a first-come-serve basis.

We are working on creating a committee and application process for large projects and initiatives which our fundraising dollars will be applied to. Meanwhile we want to still serve our cacao community with our volunteer staff.

Some examples of projects we can help with are Websites, Brochures, Packaging, Simultaneous interpretation (small-scale reunion), Social media templates in English, Spanish and French.
And you are welcome to suggest additional ideas. We will review your form and reach out to you to schedule a meeting to learn more about your needs and see how we can help support your translation needs. We hope we can help connect your cooperative, business, and/or farm to new markets with the help of language translation. (Link to the form below)
