Some goals are meant to stay private. Not because you’re hiding them, but because you’re busy building them.

I came across this 60-mile challenge in May, and what started as a simple goal turned into one of the best habits I’ve created for myself. Every mile became a promise to keep showing up, even on the days I didn’t feel like it.

It reminded me that growth doesn’t always happen in big, public moments. Sometimes it happens in the quiet choices no one sees—the early walks, the extra effort, the decision to keep going.

The best part wasn’t hitting the goal. It was becoming the kind of person who shows up for herself every day. ā¤ļøšŸ‘ŸāœØ

To be her… I had to be her.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without every version of myself that came before. The girl who doubted herself. The girl who made mistakes. The girl who was struggling more than anyone realized. The girl who kept going anyway.

For so long, I wanted to distance myself from old versions of me, but now I look back with gratitude. She was doing the best she could with what she knew at the time. She laid the foundation for the confidence, strength, and growth I have today.

To be her, I had to be her.

What does style mean to you?

For me, style has become so much more than just clothes. Growing up bigger, I feel like nobody talks about how fashion is usually centered around hiding yourself instead of expressing yourself. I spent years picking outfits based on what made me look smaller, what covered me the most, what would make people notice me less.

I never really got to dress for me.

But recovery has honestly changed that. Now I’m slowly learning that style can be loud, emotional, freeing, and personal. It can be a way of finally letting yourself be seen after spending so long trying to disappear.

And I think that’s the most beautiful part of healing — finally feeling comfortable enough to take up space and express yourself in ways you never allowed yourself to before.

So I’ll ask again… what does style mean to you?

People saw eating habits, but they didn’t see the mental battle behind it all. They didn’t see how exhausting it was to constantly fight your own mind, how isolating it felt, or how much shame and guilt could come from something people make jokes about every day.

There were moments I genuinely thought i’d always feel trapped in that cycle. Moments where I felt disconnected from myself, from other people, and from the life happening around me. Binge eating took so much from me mentally, emotionally, and physically — but it also taught me what survival really looks like.

Healing wasn’t linear, and some days were harder than others, but i’m proud of the person I became through it all. Because even in the moments I felt the weakest, I still kept going.

I survived, and that alone says more than people will ever understand.

Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it’s a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of the men and women who laid down their lives for our country.

Forever grateful for those who served, those we lost, and the families who carry their legacy every single day. ā¤ļøšŸ¤šŸ’™
Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

So grateful I got the chance to give back during Mental Health Awareness Month and help remind people struggling with EDs and mental health that they are seen, valued, and not alone. Huge thank you to the amazing staff for letting me serve our community and for everything you do for every person who walks through your doors ✨
