CMDPA ( Society) had a fantastic time partnering with the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPHA) for a special sponsorship dinner hosted by Novo Nordisk as part of our Obesity Roundtable Talk. The evening was filled with insightful discussions and meaningful connections around tackling obesity and advancing health equity.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brooks, Obesity Medical Liaison at Novo Nordisk, for her incredible leadership in hosting the event. We also extend our sincere appreciation to President Harskin Hayes Jr, Pharm. D. of the NPHA Carolinas Chapter for the partnership and support.

A special thank you as well to President Candice Mathis of CMDPA for her vision and leadership in making this collaboration possible.

The Charlotte Medical, Dental & Pharmaceutical Society was honored to attend the NC MedAssist Executive Luncheon this week!

It was an inspiring afternoon filled with connection, collaboration, and shared purpose. We are incredibly proud of our members and associates who represented the Society with professionalism, compassion, and dedication to health equity.

Together, we’re committed to bridging the gap in healthcare access and serving the communities that need us most with integrity, honesty, and respect at the heart of everything we do.

Last year, the President Candice Mathis, Pharm. D. had the honor of attending the In Someone Else’s Shoes panel discussion at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, featuring Dr. Tracei Ball, Dr. William Lawrence Jr. (CMO, Carolina Complete Health), Mr. Chip Baggett (CEO, NCMS), and Dr. Cheryl Lynn Walker-McGill, MD, MBA, MD, FAAAI, FACPE .
A highlight was the powerful documentary by Dr. Cheryl Lynn Walker-McGill, MD, MBA, MD, FAAAI, FACPE honoring the legacy of St. Agnes Hospital and the trailblazing African Americans who shaped healthcare in North Carolina—including Dr. Paul McGill, past Charlotte Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Association (CMDPA) president and the first Black orthodontist in Charlotte; Dr. Kenneth Chambers; and Dr. Brenda Armstrong.
Proud to see two past Charlotte Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Association (CMDPA) presidents on the panel and to reflect on this inspiring legacy of leadership and service.

CMDPA is proud to return to the NC MedAssist Executive Luncheon for its 10th Anniversary!

We’re honored to take part in this milestone event once again as we continue our mission to promote health equity and expand access to care across North Carolina.

Last year’s luncheon was truly inspiring—filled with powerful conversations, meaningful connections, and a collective vision for a healthier future for all.

We Had an amazing weekend at the NC AHEC Emerging Leaders in Health Conference as the new president of the Charlotte Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Association! Our organization, established in 1900, had the opportunity to engage with college students, share information about our organization, and offer valuable mentorship. Excited for the impact we continue to make in the community! Looking forward to more connections!
