***Volunteers needed for the last harvest of the community garden on 10/17 from 9-12.*** over near Health Department

Crops: raspberries, red spinach, yellow hot peppers, green onions, purple spicy mustard, green and purple basil.

We still have a few things to be picked and a work project on Saturday. That will be digging and cutting tops for winter storage.
Anyone helping can take home what the can use.

What an incredible turnout at beach market yesterday for our first Zombie Walk Michigan for Charlotte, benefitting Helping Hands Food Pantry.

Around 35 people came in costume for the competition with Zombie nurse taking the win for adults and Zombie Cheerleader for the kiddos.

Zombie mom and family brought the most nonprerishable food items with a total weight of 269 pounds collected. With the additional blessing of a generous donors match, $478.25 was collected to feed our communities.

A total of 3192 meals will be provided to feed people, with all of your efforts.

Wow....we thank you so much.

Wow… what a day! ❤️

Today was such an honor as I joined Michigan ATHENA at beautiful Crystal Mountain in Northern Michigan for an inspiring day of leadership, connection, and purpose.

When the Michigan Chamber of Commerce asked me, Amanda Thompson, to share my personal leadership journey, I had no idea what I was saying yes to or how meaningful this experience would become.

Being invited to share my impact story of my journey to Helping Hands Food Pantry as a keynote impact speaker was humbling in itself. But to then be completely surprised with the Michigan ATHENA Leadership Recognition left me absolutely speechless!

As I reflect on today, I’m reminded that even the storms we walk through can shape us into the leaders we are meant to become. Looking back, I’m so grateful for the challenges that have shaped me, the lessons that have strengthened me, and the ways God continues to use my journey to make a difference in the lives of others.

Even hours from home, I was able to hear a personal testimony from a lady at the confrence, who has been to Helping Hands years ago. She shared with me, we had saved her life by our assistance during a tough chapter.

To be able to serve, to lead with purpose, and to see that impact reach beyond ourselves is a gift I will never take for granted.

My heart is full of gratitude for this incredible opportunity and for the chance to connect with so many amazing women who share a passion for leadership, service, and making a difference in their communities.

Today was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the things we say yes to become so much bigger than we ever imagined.

So grateful to share this opportunity with my biggest cheerleader, my mom Robin.🙏❤️

What an incredible night with Capital Region Community Foundation honoring so many nonprofits throughout our region.

Helping Hands Food Pantry is incredibly grateful for the 2025 Impact Grant award totaling $150,000 toward our "Expanding Hope-A Bold Step Toward a Stronger Future" The total project cost is $450,000 with $33,000 left to raise.

Only when we partner together are we able to make a lasting impact throughout Mid-Michigan.
