Another beautiful day with Hope for All, catching up with our neighbors, sharing meals, conversations, smiles, and most importantly, LOVE. 🤝🏽❤️

Today was extra special as our amazing volunteer Allecia celebrated her birthday by SERVING alongside her son Avery, who is a Boy Scout! 🎂🎉 What a beautiful way to spend your special day,giving back to others.

We are also SO appreciative of our wonderful volunteers Keishonna and her son Justin, along with students Bethany and Simon, for showing up and giving their time to serve our community. 💙🙌🏽 Every helping hand makes a difference, and we couldn’t do this without our volunteers!

On Monday, I introduced the Faith-Based Affordable Housing Predevelopment Fund Act, a bill that would help expand the affordable housing supply by addressing a critical early-stage financing gap that prevents faith-based organizations (FBOs) from developing housing on land they already own.

Shelter is a basic human need, and housing is a fundamental human right.

The average rent for an apartment in Charlotte is over $1,400 a month, a cost that is too high for many families. Faith-based organizations in my district and across the nation want to use their resources to build more affordable housing for their communities, but high upfront pre-development costs can be a major deterrent.

The bill creates a five-year pilot program through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to offer competitive grants to states, local governments, nonprofits, and community development financial institutions (CDFIs) to fund essential pre-development costs for FBO-led affordable housing projects.

Today was another beautiful day of serving our community with Hope for All – HFA of Charlotte! ❤️

We had a great time welcoming some amazing new volunteers and reconnecting with familiar neighbors. There’s something special about hearing about everyone’s week, sharing stories, laughing, praying for one another, and enjoying good food and snacks. 🙏🏽🍽️

Community is more than providing a meal, I t’s about showing up, listening, building relationships, and reminding one another that we’re not alone.

Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time today and to our neighbors who continue to welcome us into their lives. We are truly grateful. ❤️

Every ticket purchased helps us continue serving our neighbors right here in Charlotte through meals, health screenings, hygiene supplies, school support, and resources for families who are facing difficult times.

When you attend this gala, you’re not just buying a ticket. You’re investing in hope. You’re helping a child go back to school prepared. You’re helping someone receive health resources they might not otherwise have. You’re showing families that their community cares.

The evening will be filled with great food, music, entertainment, and inspiration,but the greatest part is knowing that your presence makes a difference.

Today, Hope for All HFA of Charlotte proudly celebrates Dr. Maya Clamp on an incredible accomplishment ,graduating from Wake Forest School of Medicine and becoming a doctor.

Maya was instrumental during the early years of HFA, helping build programs, working tirelessly behind the scenes, and always showing up with a heart to serve. Her dedication to helping others and commitment to her community has always been evident, and now she continues that journey into medicine.
