🚨 What happens when youth are given the opportunity to lead instead of just watch?

This week, students from LHCC- Learning Help Centers of Charlotte stepped beyond the classroom and into the community.

Partnering with About Our Father's Business, they learned firsthand that leadership isn't a title. It's service.

They explored a mobile laundry service, learned how practical care restores dignity, and helped prepare clothing for neighbors in need through washing, folding, and packaging.

This wasn't just a field trip.

It was leadership in action.
It was compassion in action.
It was collective impact in action.

When organizations work together, young people discover their purpose and communities become stronger.

At COH, we believe lasting transformation requires more than a temporary solution—it requires a pathway to hope, healing, and stability.

That is why we are excited to highlight the Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center's vision for the Land of Promise Campus. 🏡

Located on 13 acres along Freedom Drive, Land of Promise will be a transformational community where individuals and families can move from crisis to stability through housing, discipleship, workforce development, and the hope of the Gospel.

The campus will include:

🏠 Transitional housing for individuals and families
🙏 Spaces for worship, discipleship, and counseling
🍽️ A teaching kitchen and workforce development opportunities
🌱 Community gardens and agricultural education
🤝 Holistic support services that address both practical and spiritual needs

This is more than a construction project.

This is a place where hope takes root, healing begins, and lives are transformed through the power of Jesus Christ.

✨ Partnership Highlight: Beds for Kids✨

At COH, we believe transformation happens through partnership. As our coalition continues to grow, we are expanding access to dignity-restoring services that help families thrive.

Today, we celebrate our partner, Beds for Kids, on the ribbon cutting of their new warehouse! 🎉

This milestone marks more than a new building—it represents 15 years of impact and an even greater capacity to serve families across our community.

Every bed delivered, every piece of furniture placed, and every home furnished represents a family taking a step toward stability, dignity, and hope. Because of the dedication of volunteers, partners, and supporters, more children will have a safe place to sleep and more families will have the opportunity to turn a house into a home. 🏠💙

As COH continues to expand through partnerships with organizations like Charlotte Eagles, About Our Father's Business, and Beds for Kids, we are increasing access to critical services that restore dignity and create pathways to transformation.

Congratulations to Beds for Kids on this incredible achievement. We are grateful for your leadership, your impact, and your commitment to serving families across Charlotte.

✨ Partnership Highlight: Neighborhood Hope ✨

At City of Hope, we believe leadership is essential for true transformation to take place. Great communities are built by leaders who are willing to show up consistently, invest deeply, and believe in what is possible.

Today, we highlight the visionary behind Neighborhood Hope: Josh Meadows. 💙

For more than a decade, Josh has been serving children and families on Charlotte's East Side, helping create pathways out of poverty and into purpose. Through Neighborhood Hope, he has worked to build strong support systems that empower families and help young people live greater stories with their lives.

"We want to create the best support system possible for the families and the kids, so they can live greater stories with their lives."

The heart of Neighborhood Hope began with a simple Wednesday night kids' program—basketball, a meal, encouragement, and a safe place to belong. When the program was in danger of ending, Josh stepped in. He purchased the pizza, bought the basketballs, found gathering spaces, and did whatever was necessary to keep showing up for the children who needed it most.

What started as a small act of faithfulness has grown into a movement of hope, relationships, mentorship, and transformation across the East Side of Charlotte. 🌱

This is what leadership looks like.
This is what community transformation looks like.

✨ Partnership Highlight: Seeds of Hope, NC ✨

🎓 Congratulations, Semaj! 🎓

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone and an even more incredible scholar.

Semaj has earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from East Carolina University—and she accomplished it in just three years! 🌟

Her journey has been marked by excellence, leadership, and a commitment to growth. During her time at ECU, Semaj earned a place on the Chancellor's List, served as a Resident Assistant, participated in numerous campus programs, and expanded her global perspective through study abroad experiences in Japan and France. 🌎

And she's not finished yet! Semaj will continue her education at East Carolina University as she pursues her Master's degree.

At Seeds of Hope, we are proud to support scholars who are breaking barriers, pursuing purpose, and creating new opportunities for themselves and future generations.

Semaj, your dedication, leadership, and willingness to embrace new experiences have been inspiring to watch. We are honored to be part of your journey and cannot wait to see what this next chapter holds.

✨ Partnership Highlight: Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center ✨

Check out this video from dedicated volunteer Kacia as she shares why she has faithfully served through the Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center for the past two years. 💙

Every Friday evening, Dream Center Street Teams head into our community to distribute our world-famous Chili Cheese Dogs to friends living on the streets of Charlotte. Since 2012, these weekly outreach efforts have provided more than a meal—they have created opportunities for prayer, encouragement, relationships, and hope.

Many of our friends wait for us each week, knowing they will be greeted with kindness, conversation, and the love of Christ. Over the years, we have had the privilege of watching God open doors for individuals to move from the streets into stable housing and new beginnings.

Each week, volunteers serve 200–260 hot dogs, with every hot dog becoming a conduit for connection and transformation.

As our teammate, Jamie Workman often says:
"Only God can transform lives with a hot dog and a bottle of water."
