This is a fast-paced Saturday for the whole family: a quiz show, then hands-on meal packing from 1 to 4 PM. Kids of every age have a role to play. Our goal is to pack food for 50,000 people, here in Charlotte and around the world, and we can't hit it without you.

Thank you to our friends at Amwins for hosting a Lunches of Love event as part of their Summer of Service.

A room full of AMWINS volunteers packed lunches together, and that new mobile refrigeration keeping everything cold and safe? That's the equipment funded by the Myers Park United Methodist Church grant we told you about a couple weeks ago, already at work.

Harbor City Title Insurance Agency of NC, Inc. is putting a piece of every closing to work for our neighbors this September, which is Hunger Action Month, by donating a portion of their proceeds to Feeding Charlotte all month long.

Owner and underwriting counsel Brad Surles recently said, "We wanted to support a cause that would make a meaningful impact right here in our local community... Most importantly, we wanted to partner with an organization whose mission we genuinely believed in."

Harbor City's team has also gotten hands-on, joining us at volunteer events throughout the year. That's the kind of partner we're grateful for: showing up with time, not just dollars.

Happy Labor Day from Feeding Charlotte!

Today we're taking a minute to thank the people who never really clock out on this mission: the volunteers who show up before sunrise for food rescue runs, the restaurant and kitchen teams who set food aside instead of tossing it, and the drivers who make sure it gets where it's going, holiday or not.

Hunger doesn't take a day off, so neither do we. Thank you to everyone who labors, in ways big and small, to help us feed our neighbors.

Grateful doesn't begin to cover it.

Myers Park United Methodist Church just awarded Feeding Charlotte a grant that's going straight into food safety: a working lift gate for our insulated box truck, and mobile chest-style refrigerators for our mobile meal packing events. That means less time loading, better temperature control, and safer meals getting to more neighbors, faster.

This isn't the first time Myers Park UMC has shown up for us. They send volunteers. They hosted Feeding Charlotte Feeds. And now they're investing directly in how we get food from a rescue to a plate.
