Gladys Love Project

Gladys Love Project Our mission is to remind seniors and caregivers they are seen, beautiful and loved. ♥️

The Gladys Love Project is a nonprofit whose mission is to remind seniors they are seen, beautiful, and loved. We partner with volunteer groups to create “love notes,” or positive messages, then share them with senior communities and their caregivers. With COVID-19 social distancing, sharing our love is more important now than ever.

This National Senior Citizens Day, find one small way to connect with seniors in your life. Or volunteer with Gladys Love Project and be part of our community.

Connection doesn’t have to be complicated. ❤️ A phone call, invitation, shared hobby, or a little something in the mail can remind the seniors in our lives that they’re loved, valued, and thought of.

At our Hearts in Bloom High Tea in June, we celebrated our volunteers and awarded Michael Maxwell the 2026 Gladys Volunteer Award. 🏆

My grandmother, Gladys used to say, "Go big or stay home." Her saying was the perfect way to describe how Michael shows up when he gets involved.

As we began our journey to capture portraits of elders and caregivers, Michael Maxwell's passion for truly seeing individuals and capturing their essence shone through in every frame he captured. Our six photo shoots were more than mere sitting sessions. Michael invited us into his photo studio to relax, share stories, and laugh with friends, old and new. By opening his studio as a space for storytelling, he helped us capture the wisdom, joy, and harsh realities of aging and caregiving.

As we enter the exhibition planning phase and reflect on this body of work, we couldn't be more grateful for our partnership. We look forward to bringing the 40 portraits and stories to life for the community to experience. Thank you, Michael, for joining our mission, for your heart-led leadership, and for always "going big."

Follow to see Michael's body of work and stay tuned as we move into exhibition planning — this is a portrait collection you won't want to miss!

Some people leave a lasting impression simply by showing up for others. This year, we're honored to recognize Baba Wali Salahuddin with the 2026 Exceptional Elder Award. Through his music, generosity, and unwavering care for those around him, he reminds us that community is built through everyday acts of kindness. ✨

We are honored to call Wali a friend and we're so thankful he is a part of our community!

We're still beaming from our Hearts in Bloom event! During our celebratory afternoon, we honored elders and caregivers from our community and today, we're proud to feature Cheryl Ellis as a recipient of the 2026 Exceptional Elder Award.

We first met Cheryl at Wilkinson when she volunteered to decorate love notes for elders. After participating in a Capture the Love portrait session, Cheryl offered her artistic eye and volunteered with us to style elders and caregivers during their Capture the Love portrait sessions. Cheryl has generously given her time and talents to help others feel seen, celebrated, and confident. Thank you, Cheryl, for making our community brighter. ✨

Yesterday at , we gathered for tea, meditation and DIY sugar scrubs.

We began with two custom tea blends from Aura Love — a Motherwort/Mint’N Mullein blend that is good for respiratory health, and the Floral N’Sorrel blend, which aids digestion and helps reduce inflammation.

After a guided meditation, we dove into our ingredients to make custom lavender, geranium and lemongrass scrubs. After a dash of honey and a few healthy stirs, our sugar scrubs were complete!

The end result? Time for rest and rejuvenated, soft, glowing hands!

If you’re a caregiver in need of rest and recharge, join us for our next Caregiver Tea on August 18th for tea and watercolors. See link in bio or visit our events page register!
