The New Scholar Year Is Upon Us! 💙🎓

We’re excited to welcome our 2026–27 ANSWER scholars as they begin another year of balancing college, careers, and motherhood while working toward their dreams.

Meet just a few of the amazing women in this year’s class:

✨ Shakyma Murphy is pursuing her B.S. in Nursing and hopes to become a registered nurse serving her community.

✨ Jovita Lipscomb is earning her B.S. in Public Health Education and hopes to improve healthcare access for underserved communities.

✨ Amanda Roberts, a single mom and grandmother, is pursuing an associates in arts degree before transferring to pursue a Bachelor of Social Work. Where she will use her passion to create safe, stable environments for children.

And in September, Mentors For Mom Workshops begin! These monthly workshops give our scholars a place to learn, connect, grow, and support one another throughout their college journey.

🎉 Happy National Nonprofit Day! 🎉

Today we're celebrating the incredible work nonprofits do every day to strengthen our communities and we couldn't be prouder of what ANSWER Scholarship has built since 2006. This year, we're supporting 21 women in our scholar class, moms who are juggling classes, homework, and everything in between with raising their kids, all while working toward a college degree that will change their family's future for generations to come.

Today, we’re celebrating the sons and daughters who are watching their moms do something extraordinary: believe in themselves, pursue their education, and build a brighter future.

And for their sons and daughters, Mom’s journey becomes part of their story, too.

They see her study after a long day.
They see her overcome challenges.
They see her walk across that graduation stage.

After many successful years as Fall Festival, we're excited to introduce Chair Affair, a fresh event experience that reflects ANSWER's mission of bringing people together to support scholar moms.

While the name and format have changed, our purpose remains the same: raising critical funds for scholarships, mentoring, and holistic support that help moms earn their college degrees and create brighter futures.

Join us for a relaxed Saturday Afternoon Social featuring great food, refreshing drinks, unique auction experiences, and time with ANSWER scholars.

Chair Affair celebrates the belief that every mom deserves a seat at the table and the opportunity to pursue her dreams and build a stronger future for her family.

Every scholarship tells a story and behind every ANSWER scholar is a mentor who believes in her.

Returning to college as a mom can be overwhelming. Many of our scholars haven't been in a classroom for years. They're balancing coursework with careers, childcare, and life's everyday responsibilities. Having someone who understands, encourages, and celebrates milestones makes all the difference.

When women are supported, they thrive. And when moms thrive, families do too.

Thank you to every volunteer mentor who invests their time, wisdom, and heart. You are changing lives one conversation, one milestone, and one graduate at a time.

When life interrupted Dasja Chisholm's college journey, she never gave up on her dream.

After stepping away from school to care for her terminally ill grandmother, Dasja returned to the classroom as a full-time employee and single mom to her son. She had to rebuild her confidence, balance work, parenting, and school, and prove to herself that she could succeed. Today, she's thriving as a student at the University of South Carolina–Columbia, pursuing a degree in Cardiovascular Technology with the goal of improving heart health in her community.

Dasja's story is possible because people like you believe in moms who refuse to give up.
