π OCTOBER IS PERSONAL TO ME. π
Today marks the 1st day of October β Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And for me, this month is about much more than wearing pink. This is personal.
My mother, GW, is a breast cancer survivor who had to fight through treatment, face the difficult days, and keep pushing forward. Watching her go through that journey touched my heart in a way that I will never forget.
Thatβs why this year, when you see our athletes wearing their Breast Cancer Awareness uniforms with βGWβ on them, please know there is a story behind those letters. β€οΈπ
GW represents strength.
GW represents courage.
GW represents faith.
GW represents a fighter.
GW represents MY MOM. ππΎ
As a coach, I always tell our kids to never quit, and this month gives those words an even deeper meaning for me. Weβre using our platform and our uniforms to honor my mother and every woman, family, and survivor whose life has been impacted by breast cancer.
To my mother β this is for you. β€οΈ
Every game. Every jersey. Every βGW.β Every time our DawgPound steps on that field in pink, weβre carrying your strength with us.
π WE FIGHT TOGETHER.
WE STAND TOGETHER.
WE HONOR TOGETHER. π
Breast Cancer Awareness Month β October 2026
In honor of GW. β€οΈπ
