It's easy to absorb other people's expectations. Their timelines. Their visions for where you should be heading. Before long, you're running toward their anxiety instead of your assignment.
But when you're anchored in your purpose in Christ, external pressure loses its power.
Mark 1:35 shows us this clearly. While everyone demanded Jesus's attention, He withdrew to pray. In that solitude, He found clarity. When the disciples said "Everyone's looking for you," Jesus didn't follow their urgency. He followed His calling: "I must go to other towns because that is why I have come."
The pattern is clear: Clarity comes through intimacy with God. And that clarity protects you from being driven by anyone else's timeline.
