This month, we're sharing the story of one CBLC family, one chapter at a time.

It starts with a mother who arrived in Charlotte not knowing the language, not knowing anyone, carrying more uncertainty than answers. One day, she walked into our Children's Community Closet looking for clothes for her daughter.

She found something she wasn't expecting. 🤍

This was only the beginning.

Being bilingual isn't just a skill here, it's part of who our students are. This Hispanic Heritage Month, we're celebrating that, along with the traditions and stories our families share with us all year long.

Some of our teachers didn't start out planning to become teachers. They started out as parents, or neighbors, or someone who walked through our doors for a different reason entirely. Through Workforce Development, that can turn into a whole new career. 🎓

Charlotte Bilingual Learning Center started out as a preschool. Today, it's also a family resource hub and a workforce development partner, a classroom, a family, a career, all connected back to the same place.

That's really the idea behind everything we do here: it starts here. This fall, we're sharing more of what that looks like, one story at a time. Follow along to see it unfold. 🤍

Hispanic Heritage Month is a chance to celebrate something we see every day here: language, culture, dreams, and strength, carried by the families who make CBLC who we are. 🌎

El Mes de la Herencia Hispana es una oportunidad para celebrar algo que vemos todos los días aquí: el idioma, la cultura, los sueños y la fortaleza de las familias que hacen de CBLC lo que somos. 🌎

Ask any of our teachers what they love most about this job, and most of them will say the same thing: watching a child realize they can do something they didn't think they could. 🤍
