It's been one week, but we are still on cloud nine! 💙 Our hearts are full after The Road Home, and we’re so happy to share a little of that joy with you.

Enjoy this beautiful performance of Dolly Parton’s “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” arranged by Craig Hella Johnson, featuring soloist Kaitlyn Hayward and directed by Dr. Jeremy Mims.

To everyone who joined us, cheered us on and helped make this concert possible: thank you. What a night!

A road. A journey. A place to belong.

Across nearly 250 years of music, the composers featured in The Road Home have asked many of the same questions: Where do we belong? What sustains us? What do we carry with us? And what ultimately leads us home?

On September 26, we’ll bring their answers together in one evening.

You’ll hear the early American voice of William Billings. The spiritual traditions carried forward by R. Nathaniel Dett and William Dawson. The unmistakable harmonies of Samuel Barber. The haunting simplicity of Stephen Paulus. The contemporary voice of Jake Runestad. And, in a newly added tribute, Dolly Parton’s hopeful Light of a Clear Blue Morning.

After a busy summer apart, our first rehearsal of the season always feels like coming home! Like individual threads, our voices weave back together in ways both familiar and surprising - and as we prepare for our upcoming celebration of American composers on Saturday, September 26, the theme of “home” is more poignant than ever.

From Jake Runestad’s spirited “Alleluia” to Amy Beach’s exquisitely simple “3 Choral Responses” to Stephen Paulus’ moving “The Road Home,” we’re already making extraordinary music together. It’s our joy to invite you to share it with us in just two weeks! 🎟 Get tickets today: https://bit.ly/4hVWzZV
