Today’s attack on the traditional Christian faith and the lack of training focused on
equipping Christians to give biblical answers that are backed up by modern science
has led to the creation of Reason For Truth
(RFT www.ReasonForTruth.Org). Each Christian has been given the assignment of not only presenting the gospel
message but also explaining and defending the truth of that message. RFT’s
goal is to train today’s Christian leaders and community to be able to give solid
answers for the Christian faith. This is done from a biblical, historical, scientific,
metaphysical, logical, and philosophical position. Christianity is unique in that it is
the only faith system in the world which is based on historical facts that can be
thoroughly investigated. There is plenty of evidence to support what we believe
and we must be able to give a defense of those beliefs along with presenting the
Gospel message. This can be done a number of ways. First, through textual
apologetics, whereby we show the trustworthiness of the Bible; validating our
claims. Second is through evidence-based apologetics; showing how scientific
facts, archeology, logic and other rational evidence backs up biblical claims. Third is is through philosophy. This simply amounts to answering bad philosophical
views with good philosophy. This means exposing the flawed reasoning that
props up some of the more popular arguments against Christianity. (Does God exist? or Do I exist? Is there absolute truth?) In short, our goal is to
equip leaders and all believers to "be ready always to give an answer to anyone
who asks you about the hope you have." (1Peter 3:15). This translates to giving
an "answer with reason". Reason For Truth was started in the Fall of 2007 (As the National Apologetics Training Center) out of this growing need in order to equip pastors, churches, and marketplace leaders [Para-church & corporations] with the ability to discern truth regarding the pervasive issues pressing our culture today; ranging from Religious Universalism to Business Ethics. The goal of Reason For Truth is to "train the trainer" in an effort to equip others with the ability to discern and understand truth in the complex, relativistic world of the 21st Century (1 Pet. 3:15; Phil 1:16).
