Intermediate Wheel Throwing — 4-Week Pottery Class

Ready to take your wheel skills further? This intermediate class focuses on creating more complex forms while refining technique and developing your personal style.

Dates: April 4, 11, 18, 25
Time: Saturdays 11am-1:30pm
Location: MakerSpace Charlotte

Over four weeks we’ll explore forms such as lidded jars, teapots, and nesting bowl sets, along with surface techniques like underglaze decoration and carving. Each class begins with a demonstration followed by guided work time and individual feedback.

This class is ideal for students who can already center clay and throw basic cylinders and bowls and are ready to push their skills further.

Your registration includes:
• All tools and materials
• One 25-lb bag of clay
• Shelf storage
• Firing for up to 10 finished pieces

Pieces are high-fired stoneware and food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe.

Ages 16+. Come ready to experiment, refine your technique, and create pieces you’ll be proud of.

Studio access is available outside of class hours when members are present.

Start your machine embroidery journey by learning the fundamentals. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to read digital embroidery designs, choose stabilizers, thread machines, load bobbins, and troubleshoot common issues while creating your own monogrammed hand towel to take home.

✨ Machine Embroidery 102: Appliqué & Freestanding Techniques
Take your skills further by learning appliqué and in-the-hoop assembly techniques while stitching your own embroidered NC State magnet. Perfect for returning students or anyone comfortable operating an embroidery machine.

✨ Machine Embroidery Project: Make a Moth
Create a 3D freestanding fabric moth using embroidery machines and a bit of hand stitching. Stitch all the parts in-the-hoop and assemble your adorable buggy buddy. Turn it into a brooch, magnet, hair clip, or more!

🧵 All materials provided (feel free to bring fabric for the moth class if you’d like).
