Every May, around the time of Sarah’s birthday, residents of all disciplines, attending surgeons, nurses, anesthetists, scrub techs, colleagues, friends, and family join together for a celebration with music, BBQ, outdoor games, and a fundraising auction.
We pay tribute to a life that inspires us to do more for our neighbors, whether here at home or across the globe. For the many who knew her, you already know that Sarah Lantz was an amazing chief, friend, colleague, and surgeon who graduated from CMC General Surgery and served as a missionary surgeon in Mukinge Mission Hospital before her succumbing to a battle against metastatic breast cancer. Her legacy lives on in the Sarah Lantz Surgical Mission Fund.
This year we have a bigger and newly update location: the Whitewater Center Ridge Pavilion! Bring your friends and family – all are welcome.
Tickets: $25 donation adults, $10 children (over 10yrs) includes BBQ dinner, great silent auction, live presentation by previous scholarship recipient on their time in Kasempe, Zambia, and Whitewater Center access (includes parking, a $6 value). Simply tell the gate attendant that you are here for the Celebrate Sarah Event and show your ticket/donation receipt. Plus, stay after our event for free Live Music at the Whitewater Center's River Jam.
